Game Recap

The junior varsity boys soccer team walked away with one of the biggest wins of the season as they played host to Plymouth high school in the second match of the ECC tournament. The Chargers went to the field without two starters in Lucas Berth and Josiah Wordell. Berth, a solid defender for the Chargers, injured his back and has been sidelined for the last week. Wordell, the teams leading distributor on the offense, was moved to the varsity team for a match. Despite not having Berth and Wordell, the Charger roster stepped up big and kept their cool in a hard fought battle. The Chargers held a slight edge in ball control but were unable to score until the 76th minute when William Lyu sent a shot past the goalie on the wet grass. The Chargers held on to the slim lead for the final minutes of the match as Plymouth made one final push to score. The Chargers 1-0 win sets up a long awaited match on Thursday against Waupun. The Chargers will look to avenge their loss to Waupun earlier in the season and take control of the point lead in the ECC.
