The Junior Chargers basketball program provides KMLHS Federation grade school students an opportunity to play select basketball under the direction of the KML basketball program. The program seeks to develop the skills and abilities necessary to play the game of basketball at a higher level in a Christian environment. In addition, the Junior Chargers program helps foster the development of Christian friendships of kids throughout the KML Federation.
Practices typically begin in November and the season concludes in early April with an awards banquet. Each grade level team carries a squad of twelve players. Teams will practice at local Federation gyms and participate in various tournaments at a variety of different locations throughout the state. The Junior Charger program is not intended to replace participation with your Federation grade school team. It is intended to offer kids who have the passion, drive, and ability the opportunity to play basketball at a higher club level with other kids from within the KML Federation under the guidance of WELS member coaches.
Registration fees are $150 for the first child and $100 for any additional players from the same family. These fees help defray the cost of uniforms, gym fees, practice jersey and tournament entry fees. Additionally, families are required to donate 3hrs of time at the Junior Charger tournament held at KML.
