It was a rough half of basketball for the Chargers as they couldn’t get anything to go their way and were held scoreless for the last seven and a half minutes of the first half. After half, KML came out with some fire and outscored Ripon 16-2 in the first 4 minutes of the second half to cut the lead to 36-26. Emma Strohm scored the first 7 points in the half and led the Chargers in scoring as her and teammate Liz Aswege each had 16 points in the game. Trailing by 10 with about 7 minutes left, Emma Strohm hit two more 3’s to cut the game to 38-34. Liz Aswege scored 7 of her 16 down the stretch to keep KML in the game trailing 46-42 with 4 minutes left, but the Chargers couldn’t hit a shot for the rest of the game and were forced to foul. It was a valiant effort as they outscored Ripon by 20 during the first 14 minutes of the second half, but the halftime deficit was just too much too overcome. Emma Strohm and Grace Cain led the Chargers with 4 rebounds each, while Lexi Kudek had 2 steals. Next up for KML is a home matchup with conference rival Plymouth on Tuesday night at KML.
