In front of a smaller crowd than normal due to the Corona Virus, the Chargers faced a tough Brown Deer squad at Waukesha North. But that didn’t stop the Chargers from bringing the energy in the gym from beginning to end. Jumping out to a ten point lead at halftime, the Chargers tough defense and outside shooting really propelled their play. In the second half, much of the same continued, with KML finding themselves up by 18 at one point. But Brown Deer had a run of it’s own, tying the game in the closing minutes. But the Chargers defense dug in and Austin Wagner took over down the stretch en route to a career-high 28 points. Scoring from three, getting to the basket, and hitting clutch free throws to seal the game, Austin continued his streak of double digit games. Jacob Stoltz joined him in double digits with 23 points, while Austin Schaff tallied 17 as well.
This total team effort puts the boys into the sectional final game, but due to the decision of the WIAA, it will not be played. Although we are saddened at the fact we cannot continue on, we are proud of this team and the history they have made throughout this year. We thank our seniors: Cole, Ethan, Jacob, Dylan, Austin, Michael, and Mitchell. You have set the groundwork and example for teams for years to come. Thank you for all you did for this program! God’s richest blessings to you on your futures!
