The JV Chargers had a very unique opportunity in their recent away game against Ripon. The game was played 8 v. 8 for the lack of players on Ripon’s team. This was a valuable challenge in the way that many of the players got to try out different positions and use more space on the field. The Chargers came out strong with a goal in the 3rd minute by sophomore and captain Samantha Marshall. Freshman keeper, Keturah Kremer had a great save in the 11th minute. Sophmore Ari Villegas had the 2nd goal in the 18th minute. Freshman and captain Kayla Kramp got the 3rd goal in the 31st minute with an assist from sophomore Emily Goldsworthy. This ended the first half with a score of 3-0.
The second half started off very slow for the Chargers. They kept getting shots on goal, but they were unable to finish. However, freshman Kalli Michaelson was able to turn this around in the 48th minute by scoring the 4th goal of the game with a terrific through ball from Samantha Marshall. The 5th goal was by sophomore Neva Bergemann in the 64th minute with an assist from sophomore Ari Villegas. The 6th and final goal of the game was scored by freshman Liz Aswege in the 73rd minute. This was the 6th victory for the JV Chargers’ 2019 season. The final score was 6-0. This leaves the Chargers with a record of 6-4-1.
