Grace Cain had a monster game on the boards pulling down 12. Olivia Nieth grabbed 8 rebounds and Ryen Pagano pulled down 6. The Chargers got busy on the offensive glass as they accounted for 21 offensive rebounds. In a very low scoring first half, KML trailed until the 4 minute mark when a basket by Ryen Pagano gave the home team their first lead at 9-7. In the second half, it was back and forth and nobody led by more than 3 points until 5 minutes remained in the game. Rachel Frey then scored on a runner down the lane and Alex Sterrenburg hit 2 free throws and the Chargers then led 21-17. The defense would only allow two more points and some big free throws were hit by Grace Cain, Lily Jagusch, and Jaiden Reidy down the stretch. Grace Cain led KML in scoring with 6 pionts, while Lexi Kudek and Alex Sterrenburg each had 5. Emma Strohm and Ryen Pagano each had 3 steals for the Chargers. Next up is another conference game at Campbellsport on Friday night. The Lakeside Lutheran game that was canceled this past Saturday will be played this Saturday at the same time.
